Start chapter 5 or do side quests first?

i am at the start of chapter 5 and i have heard the free roam and loot and stuff get better once you're past chapter 5.

should i do more side quests first before startinf chapter 5 or do sides after? ive done a few but need to get more campside stuff and money so yea not sure what to do first..
