Why is Facepunch addicted to accelerating progression so much?

Wipe was at 1PM my time, its now 4:30 my time, and there are groups with fully built clan bases and t3 weapons running around with attack helis already... I get that groups will always have an advantage but this is ridiculous. How is this supposed to be fun for anyone except for large groups??
