\### \*\*Federal Authorities Arrest Pooh Shiesty and Big30 in Massive Studio Kidnapping Probe\*\*

In a development that has sent shockwaves through the hip-hop community, the U.S. Department of Justice announced the arrests of rappers Pooh Shiesty (Lontrell Williams Jr.) and Big30 (Rodney Wright Jr.) on April 2, 2026. The charges stem from an alleged kidnapping and armed robbery that took place at a Dallas recording studio in January 2026. Federal prosecutors allege that the incident was orchestrated following a dispute over a recording contract with Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records. According to the DOJ, three music industry professionals were lured to Dallas under the guise of a business meeting, only to be barricaded in a studio and held at gunpoint.

The implications for the industry are severe, highlighting the ongoing legal volatility surrounding high-profile drill and trap artists. Williams Jr., who was reportedly on home detention at the time of the incident following a 2022 federal firearms sentence, now faces the possibility of life in prison if convicted of the new charges. The investigation has expanded to include Williams' father, Lontrell Williams Sr., who was also arrested during an FBI raid on the family home in Tennessee. While 1017 Records founder Gucci Mane has not been named as a suspect, the cloud over his label’s operations continues to grow as authorities seek a final suspect, Terrence Rodgers, who remains at large.
