My dad showed up to my workplace to "check on me" and then told my manager I seemed stressed

I'm 31. I have worked at the same company for four years. I have a good relationship with my manager, I have never had a performance issue, I am by all measurable standards a functional adult who is doing fine. My dad is a retired guy with a lot of free time who has always had trouble accepting that I moved to a different city and built a life that doesn't center around him being involved in everything.

Three weeks ago my dad was visiting for a few days, staying in my spare room, and on Wednesday he decided to come to my office at lunchtime to "surprise" me and take me to lunch which in fairness sounded nice. I met him in the lobby, we went to lunch, it was fine. What I did not know until the following day is that while he was waiting in the lobby for maybe ten minutes, he approached the front desk receptionist and asked if he could speak to my manager. My manager came down, introduced himself, and my dad proceeded to tell him that he was my father, that he was a little worried about me lately, that I seemed stressed on the phone and he wanted to make sure I was doing okay at work. My manager, to his enormous credit, was apparently very professional and said I was a valued member of the team and doing well, and then he told me about it the next morning in a way that was clearly trying very hard to be neutral.

I confronted my dad about it and he said he was just being a parent and that there was nothing wrong with wanting to know I was being treated well by my employer. I explained that I am 31 and my employer does not need to be checked on like a school teacher. He said I was overreacting. He left two days later. My manager has since made exactly one joke about it and I think we're going to be okay, but I'm still thinking about the ten minutes my dad spent convincing himself this was a normall thing to do.
