Breast Augmentation Recovery

I currently have a scheduled surgery for a breast aug coming up in a couple of months and I had a call to go over the preoperative and post operative requirements and the potential risks.

What surprised me most about the conversation was the amount of time they recommend for taking off of work. Their recommendation was three weeks, and I'd been under the impression most people were pretty good after the first week to get back to general tasks (not lifting or anything of course).

I work an office job with a 40 minute commute and kind of assumed that wouldn't be the worst thing to deal with during recovery, but they recommended at the very least I take a full week off and try for a couple of weeks work from home.

What was your experience? Did you find recovery difficult? How long did you stay out of work?

Bonus question - Was it an outpatient procedure or observation?
