[Self] World War 2 is eye wateringly costly, and makes every war ever fought ever since barely show up on the radar [Interesting video included at the end of the video as well that I highly reccommend!]
WW2 makes any war ever fought after by any nation not even show up on radar. In just deaths alone. In money it will make you jump off a building straight into the jaws of hell(if you're an accountant).
The Gulf War you know, was the big ol middle eastern war with a massive coalition, cost the US 61 billion over 42-43 days. Thats about 1.5 billion per day or so in 1990s money. At that time, the entire Gulf War cost about 0.3-0.5% of the GDP, depending on who you ask. So far, it doesn't sound too bad!
WW2 cost the US somewhere around 330 BILLION in 1945 money. At that time, it was THIRTY SEVEN PERCENT OF OUR GDP. That is nightmare levels of spending.
In 1990s money, WW2 cost 2.37 TRILLION dollars or so.
In 2026 money, 6.05 TRILLION.
The United States was in WW2 for a TOTAL of 1635 days.
In 2026 money, WW2 cost again ONLY the United States, 4.4 billion dollars per day.
But that doesnt seem far fetch considering the gulf war!
Hold on to your horses, WW2 was WAY more expensive than that, because we forgot to factor inflation across the board, we only did it for CASH.
Lets go crazy, and scale up GULF WAR spending, with the same GDP we used for WW2.
Lets be generous and say that the Gulf War cost 0.5% (the high end) of our GDP. 37/0.5 = 74.
The gulf war cost 1.5 billion per day. Multiply that by 74.
AT minimum, if we scaled up the gulf war to WW2 actual spending, we are ACTUALLY spending 111 billion dollars per day.
Ouch. It would bankrupt the US in under a year. No sweat.
