Pisces who have been with an Aquarius please help me understand

I do not even know if this is the right place to talk about this, probably not, but I am going to try anyway.

So I am a Pisces and she is an Aquarius. We met right after she ended things with her first love. He was the one who broke up with her. That relationship had both geographic and emotional distance, and he was very immature. It lasted from when she was 13 until she was 17.

I met her when she was 17, almost 18, and we connected instantly. It felt like a click, like I was meeting my soulmate. I completely fell in love, and I believe she did too. The problem was that there was physical distance between us, but we talked about it and knew that the distance would end this September because I am going to college, so everything would become easier.

But after six months of being together, she decided to break up. At first she said it was because of the distance, and later she said it was because of the trauma from her previous relationship. We broke up in July 2025.

I was really in love. It was my first love. I even sent her flowers.

For six months after the breakup, she would text me sometimes, maybe three times a month, always late at night. Sometimes she would send voice messages saying she missed me. But those conversations never lasted more than two hours because it always came back to her trauma. Still, she would say she was burning with love for me.

I kept reminding her about September, that the distance would be over.

Recently, less than a week ago, we had not been talking, but I was having a bad day and reached out to her. She told me she only loves me as a friend now and that she is already getting to know other people.

It just does not make sense to me. I understand that trauma is complicated, but when you love someone, you make sacrifices. I really believed we could start over the right way this September.

It hurts, but it was her decision.

I do not even know if I should be posting this here, but if there are any Pisces who have been in a relationship with an Aquarius, I would really appreciate your perspective or any insight that could help me understand this better.
