seeking guidance on heart problems

Question

Hey everyone,

I’ve been dealing with intermittent heart-related symptoms for about 4 years now and I’m trying to better understand what’s going on and whether others have experienced something similar.

It started shortly after my COVID vaccination with occasional irregular heartbeats. Those mostly went away over time, but since then I’ve had recurring episodes of chest discomfort.

The main symptom is a dull, muscle soreness-like pain in the chest (sometimes slightly sharp for a short moment, but mostly more subtle and persistent). It tends to come in phases, especially during periods of higher stress or after infections.

Most recently, I had a cold about 5 months ago (!). since then I’ve had a more constant, mild chest discomfort that slowly improves but hasn’t fully gone away. I had but my whole life on pause, stop sports etc. because i felt liek every single thing ment too much stress for my system.

What’s confusing is that all medical tests have been normal:

  • ECG / stress ECG normal
  • echocardiogram normal
  • blood markers (including troponin, CRP, CK) normal
  • cardiac MRI also came back normal (no signs of myocarditis or structural issues)

So structurally, my heart seems to be completely fine.

At the same time, I’ve noticed that my symptoms clearly improve when I reduce stress (meditation, better sleep, less workload), which makes me think there might be a strong nervous system component involved.

Still, the symptoms feel very real and sometimes concerning.

I’m otherwise healthy, exercise regularly, don’t smoke, don’t drink, and have no known pre-existing conditions.

Has anyone experienced something similar?
