FYE Importance??

Heyy everybody!! I just got accepted into Purdue FYE (hoping to go into electrical engineering) but have been heavilyy debating doing FYE at pnw and transferring straight into pwl electrical engineering cuz it'll be a little cheaper,, I just wanted to know if anybody has done something similar and transferred into pwl engineering without doing fye there, and if they felt it put them at a disadvantage?? And for people who did do fye at pwl, do you think it was super necessary to your success at purdue?? Just want to get a grasp on how hard the transfer process for pwl is in general and if its worth the year of tuition just to guarantee a spot in pwl electrical engineering... thanks!!
