On SAVE but what happens to 2 years of lost qualifying payments?
I am hoping the brain trust can educate me on this. I am nowhere to be near to forgiveness. My qualifying payments were at 37 before I got on SAVE, and since the entire legal kerfuffle, I have made a decision not to switch to another plan. But now that we are forced to switch, and I probably have years of paying towards PSLF, how can we get credit for almost 2 years worth of qualifying payments we lost?
I get that people who were close to forgiveness were able to do the buyback, but for some of us who are far away from forgiveness, is there any hope that we will ever be able to recover our lost years? I feel like I am being defrauded and maybe someone will start a lawsuit.
I appreciate any advice or thoughts if anyone has on this specific issue.
