Epson V1070 UV Printer Who Can Fix One?

There is a one year old, barely used V1070 UV Printer for sale in my area - cheap. Its warranty has expired so I'd be on my own if I bought it. I called around (Seattle area) and NOBODY can fix it. I called Portland. Same. Only Epson can service it. So I called Epson, there is a "flat $4000 fee" to fix anything with the printer. Epson told me there is an "out of warranty" option that costs like 2500 bucks for 1 year but because I'm not the original owner they may not sell it to me. Does anyone know of anyone in the PNW that can work on an Epson printer. It is likely just fine, but I can't buy a printer that can't be serviced (or is prohibitively expensive). I'm starting to think that the Epson V1070 it truly a paperweight once the warranty expires. Am I missing something?
