Please help with buzzing sound

So I’ve been helping to mow the yard of a friend. He noticed how I pulled and let go of the starter rope (and yelled at me to stop doing it, which I did). Apparently after pulling you are supposed to gently lower it back. Mine wrapped like couple times around the holder one time.

Yes I am dumb and highly inexperienced with lawn care in general.

Now mower makes weird buzzing sound upon being leaned forward (not backwards though).

Is it something wrong with the rope? Is there a way to fix it without spending too much money. Everything else works the same.

Please help, I feel terrible and would like to get it fixed at my expense
