First time using reta *dramatic*
Hi everyone! I wanted to share my experience with using reta for the first time. When I was doing my research in the beginning (&still am), I found these posts super helpful, so I figured I should share mine too!
So to start with a little context, I am 23 yrs old female, about 5’5 and my SW is 222lbs. My lifestyle is not sedentary but also wouldn't consider myself an athlete. I live in a walkable city, and I train bodybuilding style (for hypertrophy/aesthetics). I do have a lot of muscle mass and choosing reta was important to me compared to the other GLPs because I would hate to lose muscle mass and I actually dont want that much of an appetite suppression. The thing I struggle with the most is food noise and overeating when in any type of social setting. I want to be able to eat in a deficit without losing my mind and constantly crashing out lol. For me to stay in a deficit and actually see the results I want I have to live my life in complete isolation which gets super depressing to me 🙁 not to mention how unsustainable it is especially if you’re a college student or young.
Now my reconstituting experience: 😮💨
I am not afraid of needles at all. I get my blood drawn every year for blood tests and I actually enjoy seeing the blood rush into the little tubes. So I was thinking this would be light work but when it came down to it, I was actually really nervous to handle the needles. Which is something I never thought of. The stress of handling the needles and making sure I reconstituted the peptide correctly with bacteriostatic water was really nerve-racking for me. I think the reconstituting process was difficult for me because I used 50-unit syringes to pull 2ml of BAC water. And because I'm just anxious and scared to contaminate, I didn't want to dip the same needle back into the BAC water 4 times, so I used new needles each time. 50units*4=200units=2ml of BAC water. The first time I injected the bac water into the reta vial, I even slightly bent the needle and poked it damn near next to the metal part because I was aiming to do it at an angle lol. I also didn’t expect how the vacuum seal you create in the bac water with the syringe is actually kind of powerful and I was so nervous that just holding the vial and needle at the same time to make sure it doesn't splash in omg😮💨😮💨😮💨 suddenly all my fine motor skills went out the door lol! Also, because I poked the needle so close to the metal, the bac water was slightly bubbling cus I imagine it's really tight there but as it went down towards the peptide, the bubbles settled quickly. And after all that I even tipped over the vial💀 I wanted to end it there cus for a second, I was convinced the peptide is damaged and done for. Then the thought of doing that whole process over again 3 times lowkey made me want to end it as well. But I had a pep talk with myself and locked in and actually each time got easier!
Maybe in the future I’ll just get a 200-unit syringe just for the bac water or reconstitute with 1ml to make it easier for myself. But the reason I decided to do 2ml with a 50-unit syringe is because I’m starting with a 0.5mg dose for 3-4 weeks, and I figured it’d be easier to see the 10 units on a 0.5ml syringe vs 5units on a 1ml syringe. Also, the website I ordered the syringes and bac water were sold out of the 100unit syringes.
Pinning: 😎😎😎
And as far as the actual act of pinning goes, it was the least stressful part for me! I pinned on the left side of my lower belly. Pinched about an inch of subcutaneous fat and poked the needle all the way in and I honestly did not feel it at all. Both poking and injecting did not feel like anything to me so I’d definitely recommend the needles as far as comfort!
If you read this far, thank you for listening to my dramatic story lol😆😆 People make it look so easy (especially on tiktok) and maybe it is and im just stupid but hey, i did it!! And I wouldn’t have been able to without all the resources and information we all exchange with each other. If you’re nervous like me and terrified of making a mistake especially injecting gray market peptides, im here to help in any way i can!! Also happy to report on changes i notice :))
Here are the things I used:
* 10 mg vial of reta
* Easy Touch Insulin Syringes 31gauge 8mm 0.5ml/50 unit.
* Hospira 30ml BAC water
* 70% alcohol, cotton pads, and shit load of hand sanitizer
