Anyone else obsessed with wings that actually get crispy without deep frying? I've been messing around with my air fryer lately and finally nailed it with these. Honestly wasn't sure the spice combo would be enough since I usually go straight buffalo sauce, but the dry rub situation really delivered. Here's how I made it: [https://www.amgroyal.com/air-fryer-chicken-wings-crispy-easy-dinner](https://www.amgroyal.com/air-fryer-chicken-wings-crispy-easy-dinner)

Here's what I used:

2 lbs chicken wings
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp paprika regular or smoked
1 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp chipotle powder can substitute with chili powder
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 Tbsp olive oil

Here's how it went:

1. Preheated the air fryer to 400 degrees and patted the wings super dry with paper towels. This part actually matters more than I thought it would.

2. Mixed all the spices together in a small bowl - garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, oregano, chipotle powder, salt, and pepper.

3. Tossed the wings with olive oil first, then sprinkled half the spice mix over them and worked it in with my hands. Added the rest of the rub and did it again.

4. Put the wings in the air fryer basket skin side down in a single layer. Had to work in batches since I don't have a huge air fryer.

5. Cooked for 8 minutes, flipped them, then another 8 minutes until they hit 165 degrees inside.

6. Kept the finished batches warm in the oven at 250 while I finished the rest.

Pro tip: patting those wings completely dry before seasoning is what gets you that crispy skin. I almost skipped it because I was lazy and I'm glad I didn't. Also the chipotle powder adds a nice smoky kick without being spicy, but regular chili powder works too if that's what you've got. Fair warning, this took me about three batches to get through all the wings, so factor in extra time if you're cooking for a group.

I served these with ranch and some celery sticks for a super easy weeknight meal. The flavor from the dry rub was honestly good enough that I didn't even need sauce for half of them. My family destroyed these in like 10 minutes, which is always a good sign. They're perfect for game day or just when you want something that feels indulgent but isn't a pain to make.

What do you guys usually serve with air fryer wings? I'm always looking for good side ideas that aren't just the standard celery and carrots.
