Symptoms

I need advice and reassurance from people who have been through this, because I’m very scared. It all started two weeks ago, when suddenly my vision got worse. Optic neuritis. I had 5 days of IV steroid treatment, an MRI, and blood tests. In 5 days I’m going to have a lumbar puncture. No one has mentioned MS to me, but I know it could be that. I’ve never had episodes of numbness or tingling in my limbs, and I’ve never had urinary problems or anything like that. I was told that my optic nerve is very inflamed, but no one told me about anything else seen on the MRI. I was only told to come back for the lumbar puncture. How many of you were diagnosed after optic neuritis? How you deal with this? I’m sorry, I’m very scared. I don’t know how to deal with this. It’s something I never would have expected.
