Fellow dads help me on my vacation planning. Driving vs Flying

We’re going to Disney World for a week in August. My wife’s family are HUGE Disney people and I’ve been multiple times with them and once with my now 2.5 year old daughter. We live in Boston and have done both the flight a few trips and drove a few trips. This trip im particularly on the fence about driving vs flying and I would like some dad discussion using my pros and cons below

Driving pros:

* Pack and bring back as much as we want. I had to buy a second suitcase last time we went to Disney and check another bag

* Transport while we’re there.We stay on property so multiple ways to travel around but it is nice having a vehicle if we want to go eat dinner at another resort as that can be a pain to get to bus hopping

* My kid is great in the car and has done multiple road trips with us

Driving cons:

* We have tickets and a hotel for 7 days but it takes 24 hours minimum of drive time to get there from Boston so I would have to take 2 more days on each end off (4 total). I work construction so not working = not being paid

* Car troubles absolutely freak me out. I have a petty new 22 GMC truck with low miles but im always very worried if we have a major breakdown or an accident and were halfway there what I would even do in that situation

* Driving for 2 whole days sucks major butt

Flying pros:

* It’s quicker

Flying cons:

* It seems more expensive. I looked up flights today and for us round trip im looking at around $1500 without checked bags which is insane. Last time I did the drive with my F150 I filled up like 4 or 5 times which equaled to a few hundred dollars

* We both hate flying for different reasons. My wife is so scared of planes and accidents that she has to take medication for anxiety when she flys. I dont mind flying but the fear of loosing luggage sends me into a panic anytime we fly. I have no idea what I would do if our clothes got lost on the way there

* Layovers, cancelations and the worst fear of being stuck in the plane for hours on the tarmac with a 2 year old. We got stranded in Disney once after our flight kept getting delayed while we were at the airport and had to go buy another night at Disney. Then another time it switched us to a layover in New York but our first flight got delayed but somehow our bags were on a direct flight and they sat in Boston for 8 hours before we got there
