Lash extensions?

super niche question for the gals. i get eyelash extensions refilled every 2 weeks at $90. you may have your own opinions on this, however it is how i chose to spend my money and it helps my self esteem.

my question is, i should still be tipping, correct? the techs are commission based, and the owner is a little shady on what this actually means and how much the artists get. however, $90 seems steep, and a full set starts at $225.

once, i forgot to venmo her the tip after the service. the next time i came in? she was noticeably more cold towards me and a little rude and short. i’m certain it’s related.

my question is, how do i go about this situation? i’ve been tipping $15 every time i go to get a fill at $90, but not sure if tipping applies to “commission based”?. i also gave her a $45 tip right before christmas. this was before the forgotten tip behavior, so i’m kind of regretting that choice now.
