VLC on old ipad A1475 OS 12.5.8

Hi,

This ipad was working perfectly fine with VLC playing back 720p media.

The ipad said it wanted to do an update, which I accepted. Dumb Idea!!!!

Now VLC wont open, it flashes up the VLC logo for 1 sec then closes.

Deleted VLC, reinstalled VLC and still no good.

Thinking about factory resetting the ipad and start again - its the ipad my wife uses when we travel for media.

Any ideas or similar media players that I can try?
