Debate on the games mechanics/

I genuinely want to understand other peoples perspective on THESE type of third person games. Like what is appealing to you about the floating camera above the main characters head. The locked directional combat. I just dont get it. The only games i see like that are those weebish games for like some anime style fighting..like is that it? its the love of anime shows so you like PLAYING a game like that? im just so confused. I played it for an hour and i could just NOT get behind it. Ive never liked the third person combat games. If someone can just explain the appeal to me that would be great.
