Lingual braces and trouble speaking GERMAN but not English or Spanish

Hello there,

I have been wearing my lingual braces for 2.5 years now and I can say that I generally do seem massive improvements in a considerably short time.

HOWEVER, If you are considering getting them keep in mind that they DO AFFECT SPEECH even after 2 years. But, IT DOES DEPEND ON THE LANGUAGE you are speaking. In English I find that the wires do not affect my speech NEARLY AS MUCH because the sounds like a TH do not require full on. Whereas on the other hand GERMAN is a PAIN. I can hardly speak without sounding like I have a lisp.

Has anyone else seen this with themselves or can relate?
