About the killings

So I saw a video where this player did a "No kill" challenge and it got me thinking, do you consider the killings of Ganados and Gigantes as actually killing people or just killing parasites?

If one goes by it being only killing parasites, then Leon really only killed four people in the game, he killed Mendéz, Salazar, Krauser (in the Remake) and Saddler* that are in control of their actions (despite being influenced by their Plagas in the Remake)

*Also Ada would have only killed Krauser in the original and no one in the Remake
