The UN and Western Leftists are playing "Oppression Olympics" by officially ranking South Asian history as second-tier suffering.

Political

On March 25, the UN passed a resolution calling the Transatlantic Slave Trade "THE gravest crime against humanity" in history. While justice for slavery is 100% mandatory, using the word "THE" instead of "A" is a massive insult to South Asians and everyone else who suffered under colonialism.

The Western Left is obsessed with "intersectional justice," but they seem perfectly fine with a global hierarchy of grief where our history is Rank #2. If you look at the actual math, their "progressive" narrative starts to look like selective erasure:

100 MILLION DEAD: British colonial policies in India killed ~100 million people between 1880 and 1920. That is a genocide on a scale that dwarfs almost any other event in history.

$45 TRILLION STOLEN: Research shows the UK drained $45,000,000,000,000 from our subcontinent, engineering the poverty of 2 billion people to build their "first world" empires.

ENGINEERED FAMINES: Millions in Bengal were starved to death in 1943 while the UK actively took the food for "stockpiles."

Why is none of that "the gravest"? Why is one tragedy "the worst" while ours is just a "side story"?

Western leftists only seem to care about the history that’s in their own backyard. By labeling one tragedy as "the ultimate," they are telling 2 billion South Asians that our ancestors' lives were "lesser" crimes. Our own governments voted "Yes" for diplomatic politeness, but the result is that our history is being officially downgraded in global textbooks.

If we don't speak up, the 200 million people who died in our history will officially be treated as "lesser" victims because they don't fit the West's current political narrative. We should be demanding equal acknowledgment, not a leaderboard of who suffered more.
