Kafroun (For those who cannot return )

Original Content Poem

A poem on war, casualties…

My everyday street became our makeshift graveyards. The rebellion dramas burnt all we had safeguarded. I'm not worried about losing anymore, I thank you for that.

A mixed emotion flows for the feelings I’ve frayed. As I stood by this ghost town where once we laughed and played. Because your saga took it all away, All that we had.

Frictions of war have burnt us out. All I heard were the echoes of our cries and screams. Our promised land is nowhere known, It's all drowned in your fabricated kingdom dreams.

Let your hatred take rest for some time, maybe for a moment. We have lost more than any heartache on romance. Songs of victory don't make me dance, Well, I thank you for that.

Our senses have married the terrors of war and its sound. Those hymns of humanity are nowhere to be found. I want to drive someplace called home, That once we had.

Dead bodies and rubble offered the only view we could see. Sizzling bullets are heard from everywhere we could be.

Is this my kingdom come? This is our unfair share in the holy revelation. Is this my kingdom come? You wasted the agenda of our creation.

Let us restart our lives, This fever inside is burning blue. We are on the edge of knives, But it still seems like we don't have any clue.

Because now I can't come home and warm all my feelings. It has all gone, leaving only rubble and shelling. And I'm drinking the pain, but you can't see me. I've buried tears along my mother and you can't be me.
