Why are all the weapons white ?

my question is in the title, and i tried to look around about it but didnt find much. is it just like, because it looks good, or because of some cultural reasons, or because of where the weapons come from ? and is it all white for every weapon or theres other ? Like, i've seen bolters and all in white, but are other weapons like flamers, melta and all white too ?
