Why is it ok for people to say someone is ugly. But it's not ok if a ugly person calls themselves ugly.

Just something I've noticed, if someone calls themselves ugly or unattractive people usually say "don't say that or talk about your self like that" even if there is truth to it yet if the person isn't around and someone called that person ugly they would agree.
