Need help structuring Airtable for limited monthly offer tracking
I’m new to all this and I’m trying to build a simple system in Airtable for a membership-style business model and I’m not sure what the cleanest setup is.
Basically, I have:
- a list of partner businesses and a list of clients
- a list of offers/deals
- each offer has a monthly claim limit
- clients can choose offers
- they may also swap/remove offers before a cutoff date
What I need Airtable to do is:
-
Automatically track how many people have selected each offer
-
Show how many “slots” are left for each offer
-
Update the count correctly if someone changes or removes a selection
-
Ideally prevent overbooking if an offer reaches its limit
I’m guessing this should probably be done with linked tables (maybe Members / Offers / Selections?), but I’m not sure what the best structure is or whether this is better handled with formulas vs automations.
I’m trying to keep it fairly simple and low-maintenance.
If anyone has built something similar in Airtable, I’d love suggestions on:
- table structure
- formulas
- automations
- best practices for handling changes without breaking counts
Also would using softr be better ?
Thanks!
