Am I going to rot my roof decking?

I have an epdm roof that was installed improperly about a decade ago before I took over (old family home). Zero slope whatsoever, never lapped back over the dripedge, and various seam failures have occurred. Water dripping in at least 3 areas of home and I can feel the fiberboard is wet under the membrane. Previous patches/sealant is failing after several years. I bought some silicone super seal (the stuff you put the fabric in between the layers of). My plan, once weather allows, is to seal up all the problem areas for now and to a full tear off either later this year or next. Am I screwing myself by trapping moisture in there temporarily?
