Looking for Advice; CFS or CFS-C?
Hello all, I’m hoping I could get some advice. I’m relatively new to 3D printing and would like to add a multicolor system to the K1C my wife got me for Christmas. I’ve been looking at getting the CFS-C, because it’s the newer, plug and play model, but I keep seeing a lot of issues with it. The issues (overly large tower & no root options) have me thinking that maybe I should go with the original CFS system and just change out the header with the upgrade kit. Some other basic information:
- I’ve not rooted my K1C. I haven’t really seen a need, but want to have that option available. It seems like something I may inevitably need to do if I want to get better at the art of 3D printing.
- I’m not planning to do this 3D printing as a business, just a hobby, so the economics of waste isn’t a huge factor, but seeing some pics of the purge towers is still a bit mind blowing.
- My K1C has honestly been a great started printer and I’ve been enjoying using it (most of the time), so I’ve been hesitant to change out the head for the type with the cutter in it, but I am willing to if the original CFS is the better option. I’ll consider it part of the learning curve.
- Still using Creality Print, but am learning to use OrcaSlicer.
- Buying a different machine is not an option (currently).
Just looking for some advice. I appreciate any and all feedback.
