snails infestation
MY SNAILS WONT SLOW DOWN ON REPRODUCING
so i setup a brand new fish tank for a betta and as i let it cycle some little snails came in (i guess through plants) and at first it was adorable and i loved them but a month in and i swear its almost a 100 of them now
theyre ramshorn and bladder snails in the tank which i wanted to get initially after the cycle completes, but now they gone feral, they reproduce eggs every two days and they keep eating my frogbit if i dont give em algae wafers.
im planning to take half of them out and humanely put them to sleep forever but idk how to stop them from overpopulating again, their waste in the tank has gon insane, its like i have to vacuum the substrate every two days.
my main issue is them eating my frogbit whole and i dont have many since i couldnt find any so i got three plants from a local fish shop tank and wanted to let it multiply but i guess the snails found their way to protest for more algae wafers
oh and i give them like three pieces of algae wafers and its all GONE in a single day
the tank is empty it only has them and theyre starting to stress me tf out
let me know since this is my first time keeping snails
