Professor not accepting doctors note

Hello,

My professor is not accepting my doctors not because I need medical accommodation and somehow need to visit “student health center”. Mind you I emailed the professor saying I can’t go due to living so far from campus and as a commuter student who opted out for health insurance. I already spent $125 on tele heath doctor becuase of not having insurance in general. Should I email the department to see. This has never happened to me before where a professor is asking for medical accommodation (which is weird it’s only for people with disabilities and chronic illness).
