I’m worried about our betta, named Baby Gil. We think she cut herself on a sharp decoration (that has been removed). The wound was healing well (it has been a couple of weeks), but now is protruding and white and fuzzy. I bought some pimafix but read it can kill bettas so only gave her tank one dose. I also have some seachem “Focus” and “Kanaplex” that I haven’t used because there is so much conflicting info, I’m unsure of how to proceed. 

Tank size: 5 gallons

Heater and filter? Yes heater is set to 79° and it’s a carbon filter 

Parameters in numbers and how you got them: Don’t have parameters - looking for test strips 

How long have you had the tank? 2 years 

How long have you had your fish?: 2 years

How often are water changes? 20% weekly water change. Tank deep clean (80%) - every 6 weeks 

What is your process? - Scrape the walls. Disturb the bottom and vacuum out 20% of water. Scrub the decorations, the heater and the filter. Thoroughly rinse and refresh the filter. Refill with clean conditioned water. Use a qtip to clean opening after EVERY feeding. If it’s deep clean, gravel gets rinsed too and carbon filter is replaced. 

Any tankmates? Usually a couple of snails, but no tankmates currently 

What do you feed and how much: Fluval Bug Bites (Flakes) once a day

Decorations and plants in the tank: Silk plants, stack of 3 logs for betta to hide and swim through. Indian almond leaves

How do I treat this?
