Notary vs witness for FBR

My brother and I both are using notaries to witness our application, our photographs, copies of our state issued-IDs, and also our mom used a notary for her copy of her state issued-ID. The notaries each of us has used had stamps. I have seen some discourse about notaries vs witness and if they’re sufficient for the application. On the list of witnesses on the actual application, notary public is listed. Does this mean our applications are good to go?
