Need advice. messed up drop year. SC category. any options left?
im SC category. got 92% in 10th, 85% in 12th.
gave JEE without prep, then did decent in state exam and was getting colleges as per my category. thought of taking a drop for NIT… worst decision/start.
no coaching (family couldn’t afford), tried studying from yt + tg groups but procrastination ruined everything.
home environment is really bad for studying — same room has TV running all day + our kirana shop at the door, constant disturbance, kids coming in/out… literally impossible to focus. no library nearby either.
i know i should’ve found a way, but i didn’t.
also, i’ve never scored this low before. after my Jan attempt, my confidence completely crashed. i accept i made a huge mistake, but i also know regret won’t fix anything now.
this drop year made me realise — i can’t study in this house, especially for something like engineering. also my parents are very strict, too much isolation.
i don’t want to join nearby state colleges because they won’t allow hostel. i honestly want to move out, get exposure, learn new things, live a bit.
truth is, i’m not super intelligent in studies.
JEE on 6th april… i know i won’t score much (maybe not even 50). feels like i wasted my drop year. i couldn’t make it to that top % who get into NITs.
second drop is NOT an option.
any realistic options left for me? especially affordable ones?
please help if you can. i’m ready to work hard now and learn from my mistakes.
