Patreon support says revenue reduces when a patron cancels

Patreon support (Jade) gave me a reply that doesn't make sense.
Quote: "A few paid members have canceled, which would reduce the total gross revenue you receive."
A refund would lower revenue. When a patron pays and then cancels, the revenue would still go up.
Anybody have any idea whats happening here?
