Are we living in the golden age of AR‑15 pricing… or is this the calm before the storm?

I’ve been watching AR‑15 prices for a while now, and honestly, it feels like we’re in some kind of weird sweet spot. Parts are cheap, complete rifles are everywhere, and even decent brands aren’t hitting the wallet the way they used to.

But it’s got me wondering:

Are we in the peak era of affordable ARs, and we just don’t realize it yet?

I keep thinking about how AK prices went from “eh, I’ll grab one eventually” in the early 2000s to “guess I’ll sell a kidney” practically overnight. Imports dried up, demand spiked, and suddenly the whole platform became unobtainium for normal people.

Do you think AR‑15s could ever go the same route—whether from regulation changes, supply chain issues, panic buying, or something none of us see coming? Or is the AR market so massive and domestic that it’ll never hit that kind of scarcity?

Curious what everyone thinks. Are we spoiled right now, or is this just the new normal?
