HotTake Perspective on Amanda

Summer House

After being fully consumed by all of this, taking a step back I have a perspective that people might not love but as women we need to be empathetic too. We can understand without excusing. Being empathetic does not absolving someone. We as women always rush to attack other women and demonize them without recognizing the pain that women was experiencing. We can be aware of Amanda’s betrayal and Ciara’s pain but also Amanda’s pain at the same time.

But this convo for the sake of argument is just about Amanda. It’s a very real thing that womens emotions are often taken advantage of by men especially when they are at their lowest. I don’t believe people need to be evil to make big mistakes. I don’t think Amanda secretly hated Ciara or had this big plan. We know Amanda has been in a crap relationship which has clearly worn on her mentally, emotionally, physically. Her self esteem is trash. She hasn’t felt loved by her husband in a very long time. That can and does put a women in a very bad place mentally. As Amanda is going through all of this West is being verrryyyyy comforting. Her needs have not been met for a very long time. It would be natural for Amanda (a weak woman at the moment) to run into the arms of another man. Sadly West was the one putting the work in for her.

Should Amanda have been loyal to Ciara? 100% yes. However I can also understand her terrible judgment. Women in this position tend to be very male focused. Amanda is not a trustworthy person at this time in her life because of how bad her self esteem and mental state are. When women and even people in general are going through something like that and they are not strong enough mentally, they tend to be very selfish. All this to say, sure people and the internet love a scandal and to voice their harsh opinions but if you’re not just here for “tv” look at the full picture.

And I’m not speaking about alll women. Yes some women are stronger than others but we can’t demonizing women just because it’s not a decision you think you’d make. Being a girls girl means standing up for and trying to understand (not absolve) all women’s experiences especially against the male influence. Let’s respectfully chat about it!
