Crate "re-training" for a young dog

Hi! I just adopted a 1.5y/o husky who was being left in a crate for 6h at a time by her previous owners. I know that's quite long and I won't be leaving her for as long as that. However, at the moment if I leave her in the crate when I go out she immediately gets very distressed and vocal, howling, crying, barking. After about 45-60 minutes she gives up.

Most of the tips I look up are about crate training, but she is already trained, I guess it's just being in a new place that's not helping? Any tips for how to help her settle more quickly would be amazing, I wasn't expecting this at all as she was apparently so used to the crate already.
She seems to want to be near me all the time, even if I just leave the room for a minute.
