What's the etiquette for staff serving the whole meal when you order food?
So I'm at a Spoons and it's busy so I'm sitting out in the cold in the beer garden to order food. No other option, the Spoons is right next to my bus stop and I'm in a crazy hurry.
I order fish and chips, it takes forever because it's busy. When it comes, I ask if I can get some salt and vinegar too. Fish and chips without salt and vinegar just isn't the whole meal. You have salt and vinegar with fish and chips. You just do.
The lass avoids eye contact and sort of just mumbles that the condiments are inside before walking away. So I'm expected to leave my meal, my pint, my bag, and runrunrun through the whole beer garden, into the pub, grab the rest of my meal and runrunrun back before anyone pisses in my pint or steals my bag.
If we were inside, I'd absolutely go get my own salt and vinegar. But outside, where some random could just walk by and pinch my cod, I know it's busy but mate just bring me my fucking condiments! Am I the cunt here or?
