I chose running goals over weight loss goals and I miss tirz like it's my dead wife

PERSONAL EXPERIENCE 💛

I was a "competitive" marathoner (trying to qualify for Boston) before taking a whole year off to give my body and brain a break. Expectedly, I gained a lot of weight in the first 6 months since I wasn't running 50-60 miles a week. I went on tirzepatide (2.5mg max a week) for 5 months and it was incredible. No food noise, I lost the stubborn weight I gained, I felt really amazing.

The past 2 months, I started running again to prepare for a race. I couldn't do it--no matter the timing or the foods I ate, when I ran, my stomach would cramp up. I tried everything and even on .5mg it happened.

I stopped tirzepatide 2 weeks ago completely and the difference has been night and day. My runs feel amazing, no stomach pain, but oh my god I am HUNGRY now. I'm eating enough for my body and what my training demands, but I am thinking about food SO MUCH. I miss tirz--I feel like I can't focus at work because I'm thinking about food. I eat my lunches at 10:30am. I have two dinners sometimes. But my running is so good. My race is at the end of May and even though I don't want to lose any more weight, I want to jump back on it just for the noise.

It just sucks that I can't meet my performance goals and silence the Food Noise at the same time :( rant/love letter over.
