does limiting the battery charge actually matter?

i've been limiting my battery charge to 80% for the past couple of months, i'm at a 98% battery health after like 11 months which i've read around isn't actually the greatest. thing is, does it actually matter? i've been playing a lot of demanding games lately and even tho i only play at home, it's kinda annoying having less battery to work with. thanks for any responses.
