Lost weight and suddenly my close friends started treating me worse

I’m trying to understand something that’s been bothering me.

When I joined college, I was overweight. The friends I made during that time were genuinely kind, caring, and never judged me for my appearance. They made me feel accepted, and I honestly thought I had found really good people.

In my final year, I lost a significant amount of weight. It wasn’t extreme or unhealthy. I just wanted to feel better, look more put-together, and be more confident as I step into the “real world” and start job hunting.

But after I lost weight,

A few of the friends who are really close started treating me differently, being more critical, making subtle mean comments, or just not being as warm as before.

What confuses me is I’m still the same person. My personality hasn’t changed. I'm still the same.

So I’m trying to figure out what’s actually going on here.

Are they jealous?

Do they think I’ve changed or become arrogant somehow?

Or is this something else I’m not seeing?
