A Painful But Valuable Lesson

Progress

Hi guys,

If there is one vital bit of advice I could impart to you from my journey is not to tug so hard that it causes pain or injury! Honestly, it's so easy to believe that the harder we pull the more skin we will grow, but this isn't true. And I learned this the hard way.

If anything, pulling harder actually slows down progression just like overexerting in the gym would, not to mention the time we lose from having to recover from the injuries whihc can sometimes take weeks/months, and the skin often likes to break again in a previous site of injury where there is now scar tissue, because it is more sensitive.

The key to progression is finding the balance between time under tension and the amount of tension applied, without inducing pain. As soon as we start to feel sore, that is the sign to stop for the day. Sometimes you might even feel like you need a day or two off, and that's fine. Trust your body. You won't lose progression. In fact new skin can never be lost and that's the great thing about restoration. So every new bit of skin is an achievement.

Trust me when I say that I lost valuable tugging time over the years from injury, and it actually caused a lot of bodily/nervous system stress, which can result in emotional/mental stress that we just don't need.

I understand the frustration of the impatience and the motivation to try and get back something we felt was unjustyly taken as quickly as possible, but don't led this lead to impulsivity and bad decision making.

Be kind to yourself and your body and enjoy all the new sensations as you grow those new skin cells. You will be blown away as you start to experience more of the rolling sensation and the stimulation of buried nerve endings that are now reawoken. But it does take time.

The best discipline imo comes through consistency and the right attitude and perspective. I genuinely believe this also influences the rate of skin growth as well, as this influence how effectively we tug and keep us in the healthiest state possible which will encourage better growth/healing.

If you are cut, too sore, take a break and come back later. Slow down and be more intentional and loosen the grip on devices if they are too tight. You will be thankful later, trust me :)
