Hello lovely people!
I am in dire need of advice or soothing words.

I have been diamond painting for many years now but with mainly really cheap kits from a local chain store. At most 4EUR per painting. Last year I got my first "fancy" DP gifted. I absolutely loved the experience. It was The Great Escape. An absolute joy from start to finish and the end result is magnificent. (I attached images from the finished one!)

Now to my problem. As I was drawing to a close I was contemplating what to do next, as the chain store stopped producing my cheap ones. Then one of my chases came back up - Naughty Space Void. So I took the plunge and got it. I was beyond excited to start. Today I began and oh boy... what a rude awakening.

Now, I am not sure if it is a me problem or a DP problem. The diamonds have a really loose fit and the gaping is quite bad even from a distance. Half the Diamonds won't stick and just slide all around no matter how hard I press it into the canvas (I already have issues with my wrist/thumb joint so not really the greatest for me to do). The Diamonds themselves also have wildly varying sizes, especially the fairy dust ones are quite a bit smaller than the regular. Some are a weird sideways shape and others are hollow. Now the hollow was a thing in the other one too but way, way less. Here it seems almost ever 3rd is one.
I have never been this frustrated making a section and just started crying, which feels a bit stupid.

Is it me? Am I not doing something correctly?
It has been such a huge let down from the last one I did and frankly for that money I feel obligated to continue. Plus I love the design so much. So I am just a bit deflated. Please help! Any advice or your own stories would help.

Thanks!
Happy DP! <3
