Should I be taking baby aspirin during pregnancy after a previous missed miscarriage?

Advice Needed

Hi everyone, I’m hoping to get some insight or hear others’ experiences.

I have heterzygous Factor 5 with no history of clots.

Last year I had a missed miscarriage at 9 weeks, which was obviously really difficult. I’m currently 11 weeks pregnant through IVF, and thankfully everything has been going well so far besides a subchorrionic hematoma at my last ultrasound.

I’ve been wondering about baby aspirin in pregnancy. My IVF clinic didn’t think I needed to take it (especially due to the bleeding with hematoma) and now my OB seems a bit unsure. He mentioned he doesn’t think I need to be on it during pregnancy and would only consider it postpartum, but he didn’t seem completely confident either.

Because of my previous loss, I keep wondering if I should be taking it just in case, since I see so many people mention baby aspirin after miscarriage or with IVF pregnancies???

I’m not looking for medical advice—just wondering about others’ experiences.

  • Were you advised to take baby aspirin after a prior miscarriage?

Thanks so much. Pregnancy after loss is such an anxious experience and I really appreciate hearing how others navigated this!!
