Support role to SDE Conversion compensation query

I’m currently working in a Support Engineer role with a base salary of around 19L. I’m planning to switch to an SDE-1 role and was wondering if I can negotiate for a base salary above 20 LPA if selected, or it's not possible ? since my current compensation is already close to the typical SDE-1 range.
