Job gave me the option to not work my 2 weeks and use PTO did i f up?
I recently got accepted into a health science program and i’m super excited. However i have some anxieties coming up that maybe silly but just wanted to ask, but i was a dummy in my early 20s with no direction in work.
When i was 23 i had worked for company A for 5 years, gave them a 2 week notice but they advised for manager roles they prefer them to not work the 2 weeks. They still paid me the 2 weeks, and gave me PTO payout without using it during that time but explained since it was a sales role and i was headed out the door they don’t like for managers to have an IDC attitude and tank numbers. A few months later i called confirmed i was not listed as terminated but that i did in fact put in a 2 weeks.
Went to company B and had MAJOR burn out. I put in my 2 weeks after a year and a half, but was crying daily at work from my anxiety this job caused. My supervisor gave me the option to use my PTO for the remainder of my 2 weeks (6 days) i did that. This job was as insurance adjuster and since i had a work laptop with people’s privacy i was locked out immediately after i told her i would like to use my PTO.
If i graduate on time i will be applying for jobs in the summer of 2028.
Job A and Job B where both professional and look good on a resume but have nothing to do with my degree. I will be picking up a job as a pharmacy tech while in school and will give my current job a 2 weeks to start as a tech, and when i leave the tech role i will also give a 2 weeks.
Going forward will me using PTO for my previous jobs during my 2 weeks have a negative effect on my future jobs and should i avoid repeating this behavior.
TIA
