Question about Caine in ep8

Why do you think Caine shredded Kinger? I get that he became meaner and all, but Kinger is the one character who never complains, plus he resisted alone for years in the Circus. I genuinely thought that Caine just wanted to have a word with Kinger when he teleported him away, maybe to show some consideration. But nope. It felt so random and undeserved.

Then again, Caine does seem to have a level of understanding about what Kinger is capable of, since he grows concerned when he doesn't see him around and starts to put 2 and 2 together. But even so, what was the point of shredding him? Am I overthinking this, and was it just a random act of bullying?
