I'm Armenian American. I was so excited that I cried!
It was so great to have an Armenian-American character & hear our language on screen.
So often, we'll see characters with Armenian last names who are a) not Armenian, usually Persian, b) ethnically ambiguous, and/or c) a non-MENA, white actor on screen because the LA-based writers know someone with an Armenian last name and gave it to a random character.
Also great to see Al-Hashimi know a bit of Armenian and have it make sense situationally! While it's important that Armenian characters get to be Armenian, there is a huge diaspora. It makes sense for a character who is Iranian-Iraqi to know a bit of the language.
Anyway, big sense of pride! It was a fun moment for me.
