My fantastical idea for an Object Show

So basically, it starts off as a normal competition show. Simple enough. But, later on, we start to see little cracks in the contestants, like they're starting to become more aware of what they're doing. The host slowly but surely starts to become more insane with power, getting to the point where one of the characters dies permanently. Everyone still has to play along, before right at the end, they all snap out of it. They are now berating the host because of the torture he inflicted upon them. But, little do they know, the host has trauma of his own. He was split in two after falling off a cliff, and only the bad side survived. I could go on much more, it's a very weird concept
