Hey everyone,

I just published Chapters 24–25 of \*\*Epigenesis\*\*, and I wanted to try something different with this breach scene.

Instead of following the attackers, the story stays with the resort security team as their night shift slowly breaks down.

In these chapters, you’ll see:

\- Professional comms and coordination collapsing under \*\*unexplainable sensory interference\*\*.

The moment a trained guard realizes the target isn’t just fast — \*\*it’s fundamentally wrong\*\*.

\*\*No plot armor. No reversals.\*\* Just being systematically outplayed by \*something you can’t even read\*.

If you enjoy darker, grounded \*\*near-future thrillers\*\* where violence is structured — and the people on the wrong side of it don’t even understand the rules — I’d love for you to check it out.

Read \*Chapter 24\* (Cigarettes): \[Read Chapter 24 here\](https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/143441/epigenesis/chapter/3210006/chapter-24-cigarettes)

Or start from \*Chapter 1\* (Awakening): \[Read Chapter 1 here\](https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/143441/epigenesis/chapter/2838796/chapter-01-awakening)

I wrote a raid scene almost entirely from the defenders’ POV. It didn't go well for them.
